WHAT IS ROSACEA? FACIAL REDNESS RELIEF WITH SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
SKIN CARE PRODUCTS THAT CAN REDUCE FACIAL REDNESS
FACE REDNESS RELIEF
Do you experience facial redness or facial flushing? Did you know that Rosacea affects over 16 million people? That number is actually low because it is only associated with people who have been officially diagnosed by a physician. There are many more people experiencing some level of facial redness without a diagnosis. Face redness and face flushing are challenging to control and emotions associated with these symptoms can impact confidence and quality of life.
WHAT IS ROSACEA?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder of vasomotor instability often appearing as flushing and blushing. This can be transient in the beginning when the skin suddenly appears red and then clears again later.

The typical onset of rosacea is between age 30 and 50 and most readily affects fair skin individuals. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder of vasomotor instability often appearing as flushing and blushing. This can be transient in the beginning where skin suddenly appears red and then clears again later.

As Rosacea progresses, the redness becomes more persistent. Dilated capillaries, also known as telangiectasia, often also become visible on the skin. One of the underlying causative factors associated with Rosacea is the cathelin inflammatory protein.

This protein is found in everyone and is important for wound healing in the skin, but in people with Rosacea, it is far more reactive to a range of triggers causing inflammation and redness in the skin.

As with all skin concerns, cumulative sun damage also play a significant role in the redness associated with Rosacea. You may have also found that certain foods, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, or exercise and heat can cause your flushed face to flare. Because the redness can be so transient in the beginning, you may find avoiding those triggers is helpful.
THE KEY TO ADDRESSING SKIN REDNESS
As a chronic inflammatory disease, there is no cure for correcting rosacea or rosacea treatment, but there are ingredients that can play a significant role in helping to reduce inflammation and reduce the appearance of facial redness and facial flushing. As an added benefit, these skin care ingredients also help promote overall skin rejuvenation.
KEY INGREDIENTS TO REDUCE FACE REDNESS
Azelaic Acid
Azelaic acid is commonly prescribed for Rosacea. In addition to anti-inflammatory benefits, azelaic acid is also excellent for resurfacing and brightening the skin.
Peptides
Certain peptides, including tetrapeptide-14, have also been shown to down-regulate the inflammatory process to prevent and reduce redness.
Antioxidants
Antioxidants have been shown to counter the impact of free radicals and reduce inflammation. There is a wide range of antioxidants with clinical support including Vitamin C, green tea, white tea, and red tea extracts.
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is one of the most studied ingredients in the cosmetic industry, showing a broad range of benefits across multiple concerns including redness reduction. Glycolic acid also has anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties that are highly beneficial in addressing the redness associated with Rosacea.
Salicylic Acid
Salicylic acid is another powerful acid shown to reduce inflammation. Salicylic acid is in the same family as aspirin - they are both salicylates shown to have potent anti-inflammatory properties.
Broad Spectrum Sun Protection
Broad spectrum sun protection ingredients found in sunscreens are also one of the most important to help prevent inflammation and redness.
